World and European weightlifting champion, and the first Armenian female world champion, Nazik Avdalyan, will establish a sports development foundation in her name. She announced this during a meeting with journalists.
The foundation aims to promote a healthy lifestyle in Armenia, develop sports infrastructure, and engage all segments of society in a comprehensive process of physical and mental development.
“Sport shapes not only the body but also the strength of the mind. We believe that every child, young person, or athlete should have an equal opportunity to grow, become stronger, and succeed—regardless of their circumstances or place of residence,” she said.
Avdalyan emphasized that the core focus of the foundation’s activities will be spreading awareness of healthy living and raising public consciousness. The foundation aims to develop sports infrastructure, create gyms and rehabilitation centers, and involve socially vulnerable groups, as well as youth from border and rural communities, in sports.
