Armenian Government approves 2026 state budget, defense spending to decrease
Today, September 25, the government approved the draft 2026 state budget at its cabinet meeting.
According to the document, next year’s budget includes a reduction in defense spending. While this year’s allocation for defense was AMD 664.6 billion, the 2026 budget sets it at AMD 563.1 billion.
This represents a decrease of AMD 101.5 billion.
Earlier, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan had noted that in the 2026 budget, there might be no significant increase in expenditures, including defense spending.
