EU Chief Ursula von der Leyen welcomes Armenia-Azerbaijan progress mediated by Trump
We welcome the significant progress between Armenia and Azerbaijan, achieved through the mediation of U.S. President Donald Trump. This is an important step for maintaining peace and stability in the region, wrote European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen.
“We are determined to deepen our cooperation. Armenia is a key partner for the EU.
Through the ‘Global Gateway’ strategy, we will promote regional connectivity, encompassing trade, transport, energy, and digital technologies.
We look forward to the next Eastern Partnership Summit to be held in Yerevan in the first half of 2026.”
