Germany hopes for preliminary Gaza ceasefire agreement next week
A preliminary agreement on a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip could be reached within the coming week, German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul said, according to Bild.
“I hope we will reach a preliminary agreement — that is, a ceasefire, the release of hostages, and the delivery of humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip — and that we will be able to achieve this within the next week,” the German foreign minister stated.
He added that Hamas and all interlocutors in the Arab world must now understand that the movement needs to release the hostages.
