Will Tatul Avoyan have a solo concert at the National Gallery?

In recent days, a targeted advertisement has appeared on the Facebook and Instagram pages of the National Gallery of Armenia, presenting the possibility of commercial rental of exhibition halls, in particular, the use of the halls of Armenian ancient and medieval art and the “Art Basis” library for events.

Oragir.News tried to find out the conditions for providing the exhibition halls and the library of the National Gallery of Armenia for commercial rental. We contacted the phone number indicated in the advertisement and introduced ourselves as journalists, and the employee who answered our phone call, who did not want to be identified, noted that rental is possible only for events of certain formats.

When asked if it is possible that one of these days they will allow singer Tatul Avoyan to organize a solo concert in the gallery, the employee replied that only modest and discreet events are allowed, such as conferences, book presentations or small-scale performances. “Baptisms, weddings or any “dining”, noisy parties are not allowed,” he said.

During the conversation, we asked whether Oragir.News could also rent the hall to celebrate its 5th anniversary, and approximately how much it would cost. The employee avoided answering the first part of our question, only noting that there is no specific fixed tariff for the rental price: the price is formed by a number of factors: the type of event, the organization hours (working or non-working), as well as technical conditions.

We also asked what security measures will be established, since the valuable exhibits in the exhibition hall may be at risk in case of improper treatment. As for ensuring security, we were informed that commercial cooperation is carried out only with “competent” people, taking into account the safety of the valuable exhibits presented in the halls.
